Need to get away for a few days? This house is less than 3 hours' drive from Athens, so is ideal for those who would like a short break.

Why not try a place that lives year round to the rhythms of the traditional rural life of mountain and sea?

Breathe some fresh air and stretch your legs. Take a walk through the autumn bulbs and heather, or the unmatchable spring flowers, along the old donkey tracks and paths edging up the mountains to the white chapel, perched overlooking the sea, as the buzzards swirl and call overhead.

The Parnona range right behind the house has over 40 square miles of untouched highlands and ravines to explore.

Stroll along the pebble beaches, picking up driftwood for the open fire. Eat in the family tavernas on the water’s edge or overlooking the bay from the mountain villages.

Visit the monasteries clinging to the orange cliffs rising  from the gorge and continue up on to the village square for local goat cooked in the oven with juniper berries.

Base yourself at a fully equipped traditional stone built house with fireplace and children’s play area in the olive grove. Relax on the balcony overlooking the bay of Livadi and listen to the waves. Sit on the stone terrace and watch the olives being picked….or join in and learn the ancient arts and tricks. Get out the binoculars and watch the migrating birds flit through the trees and across the water.

There is something for all the family and as much, or as little activity as would suit you. We offer guided walks, for every ability, 2 hours, half days or full day treks. If you would prefer to be independent the house has fully detailed itinerary packs with maps for easy day trips on foot or by car.

Over Christmas and New Year the house will be traditionally decorated, with tree and yule wreaths, for the complete Christmas feeling for your family. The fully equipped kitchen will be ideal for the Christmas turkey, which we can order fresh for you locally. We provide all the olive wood for the open fire and a local ‘kastaniera’ for roasting those chestnuts from the local chestnut forest on the slopes of Parnona. Join our locally  organised  Boxing Day walk to refresh you after too much Christmas lunch.

To sum up, this is an excellent base for a walking weekend but is also a great place for those who just want to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

For 2 persons: €120 (2 nights) €50 (each extra night)

For 3-4 persons: €140 (2 nights) €60 (each extra night)

For 5-6 persons: €160 (2 nights) €70 (each extra night)
