Shops:
The nearest shop (a mini-market) is at the point where the road goes
down to Sampatiki (the next village just South of Livadi). This is
about a 20 minute walk.
The towns of Leonidion and Tyros both have numerous shops.
Tyros has several supermarkets on the seafront and also has 4 butchers
and two bakeries. Leonidion has a wider variety of shops.
Banks:
There is one bank (and ATM) in Tyros - turn
right at the flashing lights 300m North of the Shell station.
Leonidion has several banks.
Post Office:
The post office in Tyros is open from 8 until 2 (but maybe closed
between 10 and 11 while the postman makes deliveries).
Health facilities:
There is 24 hour doctor cover here. Tyros has its own doctor and
pharmacist and Leonidion has a Health Centre.
Bus station:
Tickets can be bought in Tyros (on the seafront) or in Leonidion
where the bus station is on the side of the (dry) river bed.
Eating out - try these tavernas:
Manoleas taverna (Livadi - in the village itself)
Pleasant shady terrace & small garden with swing for young children.
Sophia is Canadian-Greek so speaks English
Antigone's taverna (Livadi - right on the sea)
You can't miss Antigone's if you walk
along the beach.
You can also just have a drink here.
George's taverna (Sapounakeika - it's the only one in the village)
Great views of the sea and great food.
Tigani (this restaurant is at the far end of Tigani beach)
Has it's own parking - steps lead 50m down to the beach
Great sea food and great views
Plaka - the Delfini
Great harbour side taverna - excellent sea food.
The Acapulco
One of several excellent seaside tavernas in Tyros.
